In January 2019, I had a near death experience a sudden and unpredictible heart attack that literally killed me. If not for Joy and for the EMT's and Duke, I would not have survived. I can't say how grateful I am to Joy and all the people who helped me come out of that experience undamaged. I wouldn't with this experience on anyone but it does help me have a fuller sense of the ways in which trauma in all forms causes fear and growth!

I just got back from a trip to Fetishcon in St Petersburg- it was a fun conference for people working in the sex industry and people who support and work with them,
In the process of being there, I found our about Pineapple Support. (htpineapplesupport.comtps://).
This is an international group dedicated to offering understanding, nurture and therapy to people who work in the world of sex and sexual healing. It's an organization which is sex and gender positive, comforting and supportive to a group of people who are often living with huge cultural shaming and have few options for dealing with that. I'm proud to be working with them as one of their psychotherapists, available in person or via FaceTIme or Skype.

The world feels as divided as it ever been and the constant pressure of bad news on every front makes it seem unavoidable to choose a side. While I agree that there's importance in knowing where we stand on the issues of the day, the presidency, white privilege, the rights of women, the rights of the LBGTQIA community, I also think there's a cultural trap in losing sight, as the 12 steps say, that there's a little of the best in the worst of us and a little of the worst in the best of us. By that I mean that when we can't see at least the possibility of good in, for instance, Trump supporters and can only see the bad, we step onto the same path as that which broadly generalizes about men, women, people of color, people of different genders, etc. And we cannot shift the culture while walking its path. The culture thrives on an either/or world and humans grow and prosper only in a both/and world. Carl Whittacker said, years ago, that all good therapy helps people become countercultural, I hope my work does just that for all my clients.

When I walked out this morning, the trees were full of chittering Birds. A Hawk let out a full throated cry which seemed to be both greeting and a wish to join in the singing- All the other Birds fell silent for a while and then, one by one, they all started up again. A little Morning Magic before the ride in.

Dear Frank,
While the collective bravado of Jupiter-Mars-Pluto continues to thrum through the collective, the Pisces Moon allows for some breathing space.
We yearn for emotional connection and as the Moon joins Mercury, words can be the vehicle to touch the soul with sacred elegance. Tomorrow's Moon-Neptune conjunction invites emotional porousness, even during a time of crystallizing boundaries.
Authoritarian Saturn enters revolutionary Aquarius at 11:58pm EDT where he'll be until July 1, signaling the most significant collective shift upon us. A new future is dawning. The social distancing now required encourages depth of insight as the realm of ideas becomes a resource of increasingly greater value.
As boundaries mutate and transform, so must our interfacing with humankind.
Blessings

Johnny Dwork invites us to respond to our shared crisis by pondering these questions:
• How should this pandemic shift my priorities?
.
• What have I not yet done in my life that I should really get done NOW?
.
• Which of my existing life goals would actually be okay to not accomplish in this lifetime and how can I have peace of mind about this realization?
.
• What is this crisis inviting me to learn quickly?
.
• How is the speed at which this crisis is unfolding inviting me to shift my relationship with time and time management?
.
• Given what is unfolding, what beliefs no longer serve me?
.
• How can I embrace deep concern while not allowing it to poison my body with stress?
.
• What action plan do I need to manifest now and, if I don’t think I can do it on my own, how can I manifest proper support with these essential tasks?
.
• How can all of these big concerns not take me completely out of living fully in the moment, appreciating the little things, remembering to laugh and breath deeply?
.
